You slipped! You left the door open for the camel’s nose. Little did you know that salvation would come from such unlikely sources. TV, movies, foreigners on the beach. Slowly now, the progress has been unstoppable. It happens with your women, for their hearts are sweet, simple, and open. I made them so, and now your children are being taught. And you think to quell it. You think to put your foot down. You cannot stop the tide from rising, and the tide of history means that Issac’s half-brother will be saved. Can you grasp the wind? Can you squeeze sand ever tighter to hold it, and yet it sifts through your fingers. I laugh as you imagine a vain thing. You align the princes and plot. One of them has converted, and you don’t even know it. You look at Achmed differently now, for he is different. His heart is alive, and what you expect him to do, and how to speak, he does, but his heart is not in it. You are mine. Give up! I call you the first to fall. How great will be your gladness. Even the sword poised overhead brings mirth, for you love not your life unto death. Testify now!
